Hello, I am Nora.

I moved to Berlin, Germany back in 2009 speaking very little German, not having a job or a single friend, apart from my boyfriend, who was the single reason for my decision to relocate.

In the past 14+ years living in Germany, I have experienced all stages and faced many challenges of expat life—loneliness, disconnection, unemployment, financial insecurity, feeling lost in the bureaucratic jungle with limited language skills, and more. Many of these challenges are tough enough in a familiar culture, not to mention being far away from everything and everyone that provides security.

I founded "here & now" to support expat women —both newcomers and long-term expats — in building a free and purposeful life in a foreign country.

Because once we've addressed the most acute problems of basic survival, living in a foreign country can also be a beautiful opportunity to rediscover and redefine ourselves and thrive.

Join the tribe and don't miss another event.

SELF-REFLECTION

Until we find ourselves in a new environment, we have no idea how much we are shaped by our own culture. We automatically accept rules and customs without giving them a second thought. Living in a foreign country gives us the opportunity to examine those things and, without pressure, decide if they truly align with our soul on a deeper level. Freeing ourselves from senseless rules and reconnecting with our true value system is an incredibly liberating act of self-love and respect.

COMMUNITY

Until I made the decision to consciously look for "my people", I had felt lonely. Berlin, and any big city for that matter, is not a place where you accidentally bump into soulmate friends. At least we need to be pretty lucky for that. We need to consciously seek them out. The quality of my life improved exponentially when I found my tribe. I wish I had not wasted so much time. That's s why I started to build Soulful Sisters, an online and offline community of open-minded and kind-hearted women just like you.

A HOLISTIC APPROACH TO LIFE

I had felt utterly lost until I discovered that in life everything is connected; our body, soul, and mind are united, and no matter what we start improving, the rest of the system will follow. My first proof was when I started running regularly back in 2011 (back then, I felt hopeless and unemployed). Then, in a year and a half, by the time I ran my first marathon, I worked for my then dream company, spoke fluent German, and actively planned the big trip I had been dreaming of for years.
